This workshop is intended to help those in support positions to understand their roles and responsibilities in today’s modern office environment. They will learn new strategies in handling workload through enhancing organisational skills and prioritizing the workload for positive results. Participants will explore ways to work effectively in a team, enhance critical communication skills, learn new assertive behaviours and explore self-management techniques for the workplace.

Roles and Responsibilities of Administration Personnel

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of administration personnel, the organization culture, the office organization, and the skills required as an effective office administration staff.

Organize Work in the Office

  • Learn to organize work in the office by using time management skills and setting priorities to cut out unproductive time and increase your productivity.

Relationship in the Office

  • Acquire the tips and techniques to manage your relationships in the office – relationship with bosses, peers and subordinates.

Handling Visitors to the Office

  • Explore the appropriate manners to greet and attend visitor to the office. Identify the communication skills required to handle the visitors.

Professional Telephone Courtesy

  • Discover the telephone etiquette to make and answer telephone calls professionally and courteously. Acquire the proper ways to take messages and screen callers. And understand the telephone ‘Do’s and ‘Don’ts.

Records Management

  • Understand the importance of records management. Be aware of several others methods of record management and filing systems.

Goal-setting

  • Identify personal and organizational goals. Align your personal goals with organization goals and draw up a daily schedule for better self-control.

Developing Positive Work Ethics

  • Assess your self-image. Recognize what constitutes a good self-image, and the benefits of a positive self-image.
