Many have suggested that different of age have differences in work values. Although extant research suggests that age may influence work values, a lot more assertions prove that generation influences work values more so than does age. Hence, understanding the expectation from different generations would unified the organization work values, which results in better communication, healthy work relationship, and quality productivity. This programme aims to provide the participants the awareness on the difference in generations and ways to work cohesively with each of them.

Module 2: Introduction to Generations – Who are They?

  • The differences between each generation
  • The shaping force of each generation
  • The unique strengths and shortcomings based of each generation based on the respective generational shaping force

Module 3: Generational Needs and Wants

  • How differently each generation views needs and wants
  • The motivating factors of each generation based on the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
  • The new form of Hierarchy of Needs at the workplace
  • What each generation is looking for at the workplace.

Module 4: Intergenerational Engagement

  • What is Emotional Bank Account?
  • Ways of developing and depositing into the emotional bank accounts with different generations

Module 5: Seeking Understanding Across Generations

  • Questioning techniques to uncover underlying concerns of different generations
  • The difference between “Abuden” and KISS Questions.

Module 6: Attentively Listening and Being In the Shoes Across Generations

  • Ways to listen and empathize to the concerns of different generations
  • Demonstrate and discover non-verbal gestures which communicate attentive listening Empathy to different generations they are communicating with

Module 7: Appreciation Across Generations

  • The impact and ways of appreciating different generations
  • The impact different language of appreciation will have on different generations
  • How appreciation within the organization could be raised to a higher level

Module 8: Responding Effectively Across Generations

  • The final strategy when all else fails in working and communicating with different generations
  • Practice generational leadership back in the workplace
